Youth Ambassador For Peace Against Terrorism and Violent Extremism

Jakarta (23/19) In the second session of Youth Ambassador For Peace Regional Workshop, BNPT invited a four relevant speaker from different background. There are Mark Whitechurch (Australian Embassy Jakarta), Simon Finley (UNDP), Irakli Khodeli (UNESCO) and Charles-Michel Geurts (EU CT Expert).

According to UNDP Speaker, Mr. Simon Finley, violent extremism is a global phenomenon. In their plan to counter violent extremism, UNDP have a PVE (Preventing Violent Extremism). They focused to countering hate speech, fake news, misinformation and discrimination.

Terrorism action and ideology of terrorism was worried a global civil society and make state government lost their plan to reducing poverty.

Every speaker in this forum agreed to combating terrorism and violent extremism with preventing method.

This workshop forum held in Discovery Ancol, April 22-25 2019 and more than 120 young participant from South East Asia region.
